Gareth Bale has today sent a shock wave through North London by not announcing a desire to leave Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

Following a summer of supposed interest from Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United, the Welsh ‘wing wizard’ has kept a stony silence.

In a classic display of brinkmanship, Bale has attended the launch of the club’s new kit, scored in their first pre-season friendly and even gone as far as to speak of his excitement for the upcoming season.

Chairman Daniel Levy is said to be reeling, as Bale’s committed stance continues to highlight Spurs as a growing force within the Premiership, and has called for immediate crisis talks with Manager André Villas-Boas.

According to sources, high on the agenda will be addressing how Spurs adapt to retaining one of the best players in world football whilst continuing to add and develop further talent into the squad.

Gareth Bale was unavailable for comment.
